Pulse is an AI-native time tracker. Your AI coding tool captures what you worked on and logs it to Pulse — no stopwatch, no manual entry required. This page walks through your first 10 minutes: getting an account, picking your mode, and logging your first entry.
For connecting your AI tool, see Connect Pulse to your AI tools (MCP).
⚠️ Pulse is in closed beta — features may change, and there is no uptime or support SLA.
There are two paths in, depending on whether your team already uses Pulse.
🔑 Pulse uses magic-link sign-in only — there are no passwords. Each time you sign in, you get a fresh one-time link by email. Keep access to your work inbox.

Pulse has two UIs. Switch any time from your account menu.
| Mode | When to use |
|---|---|
| Engineer | Default. Minimalist CLI-style. No timer — your AI coding tool logs entries automatically via MCP. Designed for engineers who want time tracked as a product of their work, not as an extra task. |
| Normal | Live timer + manual entry, week/month balance, category breakdown. Best when you'd rather track time as you go by hand, or aren't wiring up an AI coding tool. |
Your entries are the same underneath — only the UI changes.
